Purpose: Osteoarthritis (OA) Research Society International (OARSI) atlas of radiographic features allows to perform independent assessment of osteophytes (OST), joint space narrowing (JSN) and other features of the knee. However, the clinical applicability of OARSI atlas is still limited due to being time-consuming and suffering from high inter- and intra-rater variability.

In primary healthcare, knee OA is diagnosed using clinical examination and radiographic assessment. Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) atlas of OA radiographic features allows performing independent assessment of knee osteophytes, joint space narrowing and other knee features. This provides a For the OARSI atlas, OA was considered present if the sum of osteophytes or JSN ≥grade 2, or grade 1 JSN occurred in combination with grade 1 osteophyte. Minimum joint space width (mJSW) was X-ray grading using the Kellgren-Lawrence grading scale and the Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) Atlas grading scale and functional assessments using Lequesne's indices were evaluated in relation to the 25(OH)D level. Other variables studied were age at onset of symptoms, body mass index and duration of disease. Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) atlas of OA radiographic features allows performing independent assessment of knee osteophytes, joint space narrowing and other knee features. This provides a fine-grained OA severity assessment of the knee, compared to the gold standard and most commonly used Kellgren–Lawrence (KL) composite score.

We assessed the association between radiographic OA severity and postoperative patient-reported outcomes in bivariate analyses and in multivariable linear regression, with adjustment for age, sex, body mass index, and comorbidity score. Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common musculoskeletal disease in the world. In primary healthcare, knee OA is diagnosed using clinical examination and radiographic assessment. Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) atlas of OA radiographic features allows performing independent assessment of knee osteophytes, joint space narrowing and other knee features. 2019-03-01 2019-05-17 OARSI atlas criteria were used to grade all knee radiographs. Multivariable ordinal regression models identified baseline predictors of radiographic OARSI grades at follow-up. Results: Older age (odds ratio [OR], 1.06) and higher body mass index (OR, 1.05) were statistically significantly associated with a higher OARSI grade in the medial METHODS: Baseline, 2-year and 6-year hand radiographs of 90 patients with hand OA were read in triplicate in chronological order by three readers from different European centres using the OARSI atlas (OARSI), Kellgren--Lawrence grading scale (KL) and Verbruggen--Veys anatomical phase score (VV).

This provides a fine-grained OA severity assessment of the knee, compared to the gold standard and most commonly used Kellgren–Lawrence (KL) composite score. Recommended scoring systems are the Kellgren and Lawrence score and the OARSI atlas 10.

We documented our additional decisions in the trial statistical analysis plan. 17 The OARSI atlas is a semi-quantitative instrument (ordered categorical grades 0–3) that assesses the severity of joint space narrowing and osteophytes, respectively, in knee osteoarthritis. 18

Minimum joint space width (mJSW) was measured manually in millimetres. An atlas from the Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) was published in 1996 10. Over the last decade, the atlas was used for a variety of purposes, mostly for clinical trials.

The original and revised version of the OARSI atlas was written by Altmann et al. 1995 and 2007 and features imaging characteristics of Using the atlas as a reference, these three examiners independently rated ankle radiographs from the 30 subjects (three subjects had lateral views only, the remainder had mortise and lateral views) to determine intra- and inter-rater reliability for each of the OA characteristics featured semi-quantitatively in the atlas (see Fig. 1 for sample scoring form).

OARSI's Discussion Groups bring together individuals with a focus on specific OA-related specialty areas.

AbstractPurposeThe Kellgren and Lawrence (K/L) system and Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) atlas are frequently used to define radiographic knee osteoarthritis (OA. ] Key Method MethodsPosteroanterior radiographs of 1,178 knees, from 621 individuals with varying severity of OA, were graded by a trained physician with the K/L system (grade 0–4) and the OARSI atlas
